Frankie Rayder at Alexander Wang’s Gas Station party wearing Flak Jacket
The Flak Jacket (or the “Flacket” as I’m calling it) was sewn from utilitarian threads and originally worn by military personnel to protect against shrapnel and heat during WWII. Modern day designers are loosely borrowing the terminology to translate into any military-inspired outerwear. My advice is to seek out dressier versions of this trend – easily pair it with jeans for a casual look, or over a dress for an edgier style.
